Because the greatest site you can see on a road trip is a giant butte breaking up the skyline - haven't you ever been to the Dakotas?

And just like a butte is an an isolated hill or mountain rising abruptly above the surrounding land, The Biggest Butte is meant to be an isolated creative mountain rising about the surrounding land of travel sites.

Well - maybe not - this is called the world wide web because we are all connected to each other, but that sounded romantic and grand - just like a butte.

I encountered a sage-like goat in monument valley.The road was dusty but judging from his long beard I determined that he  was one hundred and thirty years old. He was chewing on a tin can that had been
around for half of his life*. That tin can resonated a clear message. Bring nature’s majesty to the
people.  And The Biggest Butte was born.

The Biggest Butte is a celebration of the experience of travel. The liberating presence of
monoliths and buttes. Obsessive collecting of national park passport stamps and brochures.
The pursuit of the ultimate vista. And mostly, macro and micro-travel; the fine-
tuned skill of traveling within any given moment in time and circumstance.
