The National Parks: America's Best Idea is officially over. You can catch the full episodes online for a few more weeks.
I can now part with my episode guide book mark (found at Davis Kidd a few weeks ago) and turn it into precious, colorful wildflowers. Can we make it so all paper can be buried in the ground to transform into pretty plants?

The grand National Park System has a sweet website: The National Registrar of Historic Places: National Register Travel Itineraries! PERFECT for road trippers. I am a fan of the recommendations for Detroit and I like how nearly every state has something to offer for presidential history buffs. I'm anxious to check out "From Sand Dunes to Sonic Booms" - the Mississippi Itinerary.

ah so, my NPS Passport book has been through a lot. It has some gas-station cappuccino funk on it. But that is the way they should be.
Everybody likes to have goals and proof of their progress. What better way to impress yourself, your friends, and NPS Rangers than to have your own NPS Passport book. There are cancellation stations at most every National Park Visitor Center. Check this handy site for a li
st of places.
For those of you that think it is too late and you should have started long ago - there is no time like the present. And it only costs $7.95 right now, if you wait too long it will just cost you more.
They make great gifts too. I know a gal that buys them for first birthdays so kids have their whole lifetime to fill them up. Oh - and just think - graduation, retirement... weddings! (Maybe not weddings unless you have some very progressive/granola-y pals and even then they may think it is a waste of paper).
All proceeds for stuff bought at NPS Gift Shops go right to the National Parks!
