Wednesday Link-in

We fully support cultured and curious travel here at The Biggest Butte which is why our first link is to a NY Times article about rare books and US Libraries.

There are still plenty of areas in the US with colorful fall foilage. Look at CNN's Late Season Hot Spots it is part of their series American Road Trips which is a great year-round resource.

Speaking of gorgeous fall trees, if you are anywhere near Arkansas, now is the time to visit - peak color season. In other Arkansas news: President Obama has big plans for Trail of Tears markers in the state.

Frommers online has a great article on specials and new routes for Amtrack.  Some examples are 40% off a second ticket or 20% off certain routes.

If trains aren't your thing and you dig hanging out at airports check out these fabulous and strange airport attractions.

Map news: First Map To Show US now in Library of Congress.

Wacky Deal: In Houston/Texas or New England/Boston area? How about driving a rental car to Florida for $1 a day?

Creeped Out Walking Tours & More

It's like MSNBC and I are on the same wavelength.  Their article "Creepy Walking Tours" is a perfect compliment to my Cemetery Tourism post a couple days ago.

Project For Postcard People

I'm a huge fan of postcards (you can see some of my Postcard Maps here) and I just stumbled on this great web project called Postcrossing - according to the website "It's a project that allows anyone to receive postcards (real ones, not electronic) from random places in the world" - I'm in!
